Empyrean Services attended the 13th Annual Small Business Forum & Expo in Tampa, Florida sponsored by the US Department of Energy.  This conference presents valuable information to help small businesses capitalize on contracting and subcontracting opportunities within the DOE.

Empyrean Services attended the 20th Annual Nuclear Generator and Supplier Executive Summit in Carlsbad, California sponsored by the Utilities Service Alliance.  This year’s theme was Cumulative Impact – All of This and Safe, Economic Operation Too.  Speakers included several chief nuclear officers, the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) as well as leading industry suppliers and consultants.

Empyrean Services attended the 31^st Annual Supplier Diversity Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina sponsored by the Edison Electric Institute.  It is the leading US forum addressing diversity issues facing the electric utility industry.

Working under the Shaw-Areva MOX Services LLC, Empyrean Services added several positions to support the MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility construction.  Recently, the Department of Energy determined that the facility would no longer be considered for cold shutdown.

Empyrean Services completed a US nuclear industry market research project for the MDA Corporation to provide an analysis of the US nuclear market relative to MDA’s product and service offerings.  MDA is a global communications and information company providing operational solutions to commercial and government organizations worldwide.  The firm’s nuclear business is located in Brampton, Ontario.

Empyrean Services was granted a one-year extension with Duke Energy to provide nuclear engineering staff support.  Duke Energy operates eleven nuclear power plants at six sites in the Southeastern United States.
